AOYAMA'S RULES
[style=font-family:verdana; font-size:10px; text-align:justify; width:360px]CHEWING GUM - chewing gum is not allowed, although it has been scientifically proven that chewing gum helps stimulate the brain's activity, it is unsanitary when found under desks or on the pavement.JEWELRY - any form of jewelry is strictly prohibited due to the strict dress code. all jewelry should be confiscated or reported if seen. going along with this, there should be no decorative buttons on the school uniform and it should look neat and tidy at all times. no missed buttons or loose bows (or ties).
HAIR DYE - brightly colored hair can be seen as a distraction to the learning environment, and is therefore against the rules (even if it's one of the most ignored).
NO JOBS - because of the preexisting stress from school, students should not be taking on jobs. it deters focus from things that are important like homework, and students will be suspended if they are found out.
NO SMOKING/DRINKING - this is pretty much a given, and it is not tolerated whether it is on or off campus.
NO DRIVING - that's right. driving a car is not allowed either, but since most people use the subway or train system anyway, it shouldn't be a problem.
OUT OF SCHOOL - students must be off of campus by eight o'clock at night unless they have a written excuse for a sport, club, or study session.
UNIFORMS - are to be worn at all times on campus and never mistreated. seasonal uniforms are changed on the same day, and are not interchangeable for any season.
OPEN/CLOSE - the school's gates close at 8:30 SHARP. so if you want to get to school without worries, you'd better be there at eight. technically, the school's lessons end at 3:00, but students with extracurricular activities may stay until eight without questioning. (optional cram sessions also begin after school and end at 8 o'clock).
LOCKERS - each student is assigned a locker in the beginning of the school year. the only things that should be kept in this locker are outdoor shoes, which are strictly forbidden inside of the corridors.
DRINKS - obviously, alcohol is not allowed, but soda and other fizzy beverages are also banned.
DAILY CHORES - because aoyama doesn't have janitors, it's the students' duty to keep their school clean. each student has to put in personal effort to keep the school clean, even if it's just dusting up the floor a bit.
THE ROOFTOP - students are not allowed there, even though that doesn't stop them anyways.
