outside of the shibuya station stands the famous statue of hachiko, the dog that loyally waited for his owner to return. this is a favorite meeting place for many locals looking to casually gather with friends and family. it's crowded and chaotic, and everywhere you look there's someone checking their phone, waiting for their company to show up. it's also a popular "pick-up" spot for strangers.

the large stretch of street is marked for pedestrian crossing, but one shouldn't dawdle here. it's a busy, congested intersection its filled with colorful advertisements, tv screens and heavy traffic.

Well, what do you know, just like everywhere else in the world Japan has it's own Starbucks! This is the first shop on the road, a popular hangout for the residents. It's busiest in the morning and early afternoon hours.
