[style=border-top:5px solid #5165ae; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;] He wasn't doing anything wrong. Well, he may be was, but he wasn't doing anything particularly wrong. He wasn't terrible in his tests, and he wasn't perfect. He was.. fine. He was better than average and worse than good. He was much better than 'bad,' but nothing special. That was his comfortable place. That was where he wasn't afraid of fucking up, or dropping out. He had no high expectations with which to keep up, or low expectations with which to struggle. It was fine. It wasn't bad. And he wasn't a poor student.
He paid attention, for the most part.. Right? Yes, of course right. Usually. If it was a bad day, he tended to doodle a bit more, or write random shit, or just look out the window, or at his desk, or wherever he could look without staring at someone on accident. So why did he have to stay after? Why did he have to ask him to stay after, anyway? He didn't want to. He didn't want to talk to him alone, as he was, and him, as .. he was.. being.. .. him. As the other students went on their ways, he stayed at his desk, and fiddled with his pencil, his feet propped against a low bar on the chair in front of his, nervously rubbing the soles against the metal. It made an odd sound.. somewhere between a groan and a squeak.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: jo sensei words: 239 notes: hope that's okay ;u; credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] [/style] |

as the last student moved out of the room, ryuu looked up and waited for the door to click, and then looked back down to the few papers on his desk as he stacked them between his hands. he had never disciplined a student before; he wasn't sure if he was disciplining. this was more like a business meeting or something. he adjusted his glasses on his face and then decided to take them off, letting out a sigh as he moved around to the front of his desk and propped himself against it. there were a few desks between him and he supposed if it was necessary he could sit in the one in front of him if he didn't seem to be listening, but he didn't want his student to feel any more anxious than he appeared to be. he cleared his throat and crossed his arms in through for a moment, staring at the the back wall of the room before letting his eyes wander back to the lone boy in the row in front of him.
"well, saito-kun," he started, looking behind him and plucking up one of the scattered papers. "i'd like to congratulate you on managing to accomplish the most dramatic drop in grades i've ever seen. you haven't dropped more than one letter grade at the most but you've done it in such a sudden way that it does beg some attention," he added, looking over the grades on the paper before him. "though, really, that's not something to be too proud about, unless, of course, that was your goal." he said it in such a way as though there were people who actually strove to have bad grades. he was sure there were. he frowned over that the fidgeting shoes but did nothing to correct the otherwise ill-mannered behaviorism. he'd probably be doing the same thing if he was in his place.[/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=width,125][style=border: 1.5px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px; margin: 14 0 0 10;][/style]

[style=border-top:5px solid #5165ae; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;] He was content with the quiet of the room. He'd prefer if it had remained as such, with no trouble and no speaking, because speaking only lead to trouble. He was a good student. Well, he was a student.. A bland student, perhaps, in grades. He didn't understand the attention. He had worked against earning attention, so why did he have it now? He was nervous. Had he done something wrong that he wasn't even aware of..? He didn't want the man to judge him, to see him as a petulant little brat. He was a good teacher, and a good man, and.. extremely attractive, but.. that wasn't the point right now. It actually just made it even worse. To get into trouble was one thing, but to get into trouble by someone he actually enjoyed was another, and he felt shamed to even be in the position he was in.. So he kept rubbing his foot against the bar, and fidgeting with the pencil in his hand.
When his name was called, he looked up with his eyes, but his head was still down, and he still fidgeted as he likely would for the entirety of this likely unhappy conversation. As it was so, it just got worse. His name was bad, but this.. He felt his shoulders stiffen in discomfort, and he moved his eyes down to his pencil as he fidgeted with it some more. Come on. The most dramatic drop? The most? He surely wasn't the worst, was he? Come on.. he was a good student. Right? Fucking hell. He closed his eyes and gripped the pencil, then sighed. “I'm not an idiot. Why would I intentionally make my grades worse?” He scoffed. He wouldn't ever do such a thing. He wasn't struggling, no. He was just.. distracted, that's all. He glanced up at him. “Am I failing?” Surely not.. He was careful. Right? He would never allow himself to fail. He couldn't stand such a thing. He couldn't do it.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: jo sensei words: 337 notes: took a bit x3 credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] [/style] |

"no, you're not an idiot," he replied, shaking his head slightly. he would never call anyone an idiot, that wasn't what he had meant by that. he was happy to know that he wasn't doing it on purpose, though, and could at least offer a small smile of approval before putting the paper back behind him on the desk. he frowned down at the floor for a moment before shaking his head up at him again. "you're not failing, no, but if you continue with this carelessness you're showing toward your work you may every well get there."
he crossed his arms across his chest and shrugged for a moment, trying to come up with something to say to make the fidgeting stop without being any more strict. he hated having to pull the hardass teacher card--he'd never done this before but he was worried. ritsuka was a good kid and he'd hate to see his mind going to waste by not using it. there were only so many students that he could see going somewhere and ryuu thought maybe ritsuka could. maybe he didn't want to go anywhere, but for now he hadn't said anything against it so he still hoped to help him get somewhere.
"i'm not trying to come down on you or anything, but i'd hate to see your grades fall anymore than they have." he shot another glance behind him at the paper and then pushed his hair behind his ear in thought, looking back at him again. "even if you don't see them as important, for now, they are, and if you don't want to be pulled aside by teachers i'd suggest trying to do a bit better." he shrugged again and looked over at him once more. he had no idea if anything that he was saying was actually getting through to him or if he had determined not to listen to what he had to say. but either way, he was trying to help him and he was hoping he might be getting through to him.[/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=width,125][style=border: 1.5px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px; margin: 14 0 0 10;][/style]

[style=border-top:5px solid #5165ae; margin-top: 0; font-size:10px; line-height:13px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; text-transform:lowercase;] He couldn't study at home. With the noise going about, the arguing and everything, he couldn't focus. His grades had always been a bit of a smoothed rollercoaster. Up and down, but it usually wasn't so sharp. Maybe it had gotten worse without him even realizing it. It was possible.. but... He generally just tried not to think about it. He avoided it, even mentally, just shielded it from his mind and ignored it ever existed. It was a clusterfuck of psychological issues that he didn't want to bother with. The fact that it was affecting his grades was just embarrassing. He didn't mean for it to be that obvious. He didn't mean for anything to be obvious. He was good. He was a good liar, and good at faking things, things like attention and contentedness. So why were his grades.. ugh, fuck. He kept his thoughts to himself, though, he kept his face still, and looked down again.
“I'm not going to fail.” He muttered. He wouldn't. He couldn't fail. This was his last year. After this, he could move out, and it wouldn't be a problem. If he failed, he wouldn't be able to get into college, and he couldn't do what he wanted. He couldn't fail. And if he wasn't failing, he was okay. Right? Maybe that was simple of him.. He should think with more ambition, but it was hard to focus, and.. fuck it all, no one was supposed to notice anything, not even a slight something. Grades weren't slight. However, when the teacher said 'coming down on you,' he had to give a faint smile as he continued to stare at his desk, at his pencil that he worked in his hands. Going down on him, indeed. “Just been distracted. Boyfriends, and all.” He glanced at him. “I'll do better.” He wanted him to stop looking down on him. He knew he was. .. Or maybe that was his own paranoia. Nevertheless, he smiled.[/style] [STYLE=font:10px arial; font-weight: bold;]tags: jo sensei words: 327 notes: bleh, bad post credit: template made by razzle of btn[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width:291px, btable;] [/style] |

"of course you won't fail," he agreed with a small nearly-encouraging smirk of a smile. "like you said, you're not an idiot. i can't see you actually failing, but that doesn't mean that you'll pass at this rate, either." he shrugged, and then offered a small nod at his explanation. "it'd be a shame for your entire high school career to be jeopardized over a few boys though," he muttered.
when something seemed to switch over in the student's mind, ryuu couldn't help but appreciate how well ritsuka was taking this. although he still fidgeted with his pencil he seemed to be easing in the situation just as ryuu was. "good, i'm glad to hear that. even if you just put a bit more effort into it, i'm sure things'll start looking up for you," he said encouragingly, but still keeping that snarky tone to the edge of his words. there was a bit of a smile creeping over his face at the smile on the student's, glad that words were being received in such a way that wasn't making ryuu seem like the teacher come to make his student feel like shit. he wanted to make sure that the boy didn't feel that way, and he was pretty sure that he at least was finding some sort of amusement--he wasn't sure from what but at least he wasn't returning any word ryuu said to him with a curse or something. however, he certainly hoped that no student would ever feel as though they had to cuss him out, despite the few situations here and there where he had to restrain himself from partaking in such an act.[/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=width,125][style=border: 1.5px #000000 solid; width: 100px; height: 100px; margin: 14 0 0 10;][/style]
