It might not have gotten quite that bad yet, but it was bad enough that his decision making was severely impaired – enough that he decided to entertain the idea of sneaking out (though that might have not been so much due to sleep deprivation as much as the fact that he was generally sort of careless).
Of course it was a stupid idea on many fronts – going out alone into the heart of Tokyo in the middle of the night without anyone knowing where he was. Not that he was particularly concerned with his own safety, just with finding something to do other than laying in bed hopelessly. He liked that about cities, the way that there was always something going on, the way they never slept. They came alive in an entirely different way at night, and for someone like Kaisei who didn’t sleep either, it always gave him something to entertain himself with.
Though, this late night walk didn’t have much purpose – he’d been away long enough that the streets of Tokyo had grown unfamiliar and he wandered aimlessly, admiring the crowds and the lights. It wasn’t until he caught sight of something particular that Kaisei made up his mind – a bar. If all else failed, he could always drink until he passed out, and that would be a welcome reprise from being awake for god- knew-how-long-it-had-been. It was an idea just a stupid as sneaking out, with no consideration to how he’d get back home, but Kaisei wasn’t in the state to formulate any coherent plan, and it wasn’t as if he had anything better to do. He wasn’t particularly concerned with whether or not he’d miss school tomorrow, though it might have been a good idea to at least give a thought to how he’d get home.
He pushed open the door, pausing in the entrance way to survey the place for several seconds before shrugging and making his way in deeper into the room. He felt a few patrons glancing over at him, but nobody said anything as the high schooler made his way across the room and slumped into a bar stool, elbows braced on the bar’s surface and chin in his hands as he stared up at the bottles lining the wall behind the bar, trying to come up with an order, not being particularly experience in the way of drinking.[/style][style=float: right; margin-top: 4px; border: 5px solid #fafafa; margin-right: 18px; margin-left: 5px][/style][style=font-size: 17px; font-family: courier new; color: #B8B8B8; text-align: right;]stay on the charming side of drunk[/style][style=font-size: 10px; font-family: helvetica; color: #B8B8B8; text-align: right;]words: 436. tags: torao. notes: argh this is really bad i'm sorry. credit to minami of ote.[/style] |

336 WORDS WITH KAISEI orz sorry it's sucky | [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:230px; background-color:#000000; padding:10px; border-left:8px solid #282828; font-size:10px; text-align:justify] today was usual as always, the occasional sloppy drunk throwing a fit because it was tor's duty to cut him off, and of course the rowdy group of partying adults. but no matter the circumstance, a cheery smile remained on the blond's face. even when rowdy drinkers bursted out into laughter and bossed him around, or when an angry man takes him by the tie and demands a scotch on the rocks.
drying off a glass, torao smiled, nothing was better than the feeling of your shift almost ending. of course he loved his job, and he loved being around people, but sometimes the same old routine would get boring. and after all, he had to cover for a friend today, so the day was automatically dragging on slower than expected. however, being the nice person he was, torao could never say no to his friendly colleague. but right now all he really wanted to do was take a nice nap.
an eerie silence filled the room as soft murmurs exchanged from lips to ears after the door opened. automatically turning towards the alcohol selection, torao heard the body sit on one of the creaky bar stools. the quiet atmosphere seemed to fade away after a while, so he figured that this person was probably just either a pretty woman or an odd-looking person. because of his uneducated assumption, he turned around with a clean glass and a grin.
"what would you like-.. oh, are you lost?" now this was interesting. it was late at night, and this particular customer looked far too young to be in a bar. maybe he was looking for his parents? although he also seemed to be an age where he was too good for parents.
torao gave the boy a genuine smile and put a bowl of peanuts on the counter in front of him. sure, the kid couldn't have alcohol, but peanuts wouldn't hurt. after all, they had a free water tap if he got thirsty in the meantime. |

He hadn’t finished speaking when Kaisei opened his mouth to order, though even at this point he hadn’t thought through what he was going to say. But as it turned out, he didn’t end up having to say anything as the bartender’s question shifted mid-sentence once he took in Kaisei’s presence – and most importantly, his age. Yet another thing that he hadn’t bothered to think through was how he planned to get his hands on any sort of alcohol, seeing as he didn’t pass for drinking age as well as he’d hoped. Frowning slightly once he realized that the bartender didn’t intend to take any order from him, Kaisei glanced between the blonde and the bowl of peanuts placed in front of him as he considered his answer.
Was he lost? He supposed he sort of was, since he’d just wandered up along random streets until he’d ended up here, but Kaisei had meant to enter a bar if that was the intent of the blonde man’s question. He pondered the question for a few seconds, plucking a peanut from the bowl and popping it into his mouth as he thought. He wasn’t really in the most alert state of mind, and the intent of the question all but flew over his head, as he thought it over with an intensity as if some sort of deep philosophical answer was expected of him.
”Um." He said for the sake of saying something. It wasn’t a complicated question and part of him realized the fact, feeling a little embarrassed by how long it was taking him to come up with an answer. He just didn’t quite know what the bartender meant. Looking back up at the blonde man in front of him, Kaisei tilted his head, meeting his eyes with a dazed sort of earnesty. “Lost in what sense?” [/style][style=float: right; margin-top: 4px; border: 5px solid #fafafa; margin-right: 18px; margin-left: 5px][/style][style=font-size: 17px; font-family: courier new; color: #B8B8B8; text-align: right;]stay on the charming side of drunk[/style][style=font-size: 10px; font-family: helvetica; color: #B8B8B8; text-align: right;]words: 329. tags: torao. notes: stupid kai is stupid. credit to minami of ote.[/style] |
