What’s up?” Nao’s calm tone could be heard like a melody drifting through the room. Nao smirked, he could read the girls mood over the phone. She was hanging onto every word that came out of his mouth, but he could also feel that she was upset. ”Nao, I've called five times. You must have lost your phone again…” He couldn’t help but hold in the laugh that wanted to slip out as he slowly walked towards the kitchen, eyes aimed downward to watch his feet move in interest."Eh, five times? Really? I must have been too focused in my painting to pay attention to my phone. Sorry about that~" This girl must have felt like she knew him inside and out, too bad it was all just an act, he was playing his role way to well. As to be expected from someone who has played many different roles for quite some time now. He was so good at it that no one really seen the 'true' side of him before, and he wanted to make sure no one did. Stepping in front of the refrigerator, the door popped open with the tug of a hand and Nao reached in a grabbed a can of his favorite soda with his left hand while holding the phone with his right, he then traveled across the small kitchen to where his dining table was situated and sat down. "Really I don't know what to do with you. I'm your girlfriend, and yet I'm being treated like a stranger. I can't even get you to answer your phone because of your stupid love for painting. The tone the girl was using was one to be used for a child getting a scolding, however it didn't take the affect she was possibly trying to get it to. This time the laugh came bubbling out of Nao's mouth as his shoulders shook and he covered his mouth to try and contain the laughter. There was silence on the phone to which Nao took it as a sign that the girl sitting there looking confused, she hadn't said anything funny, so why was he laughing? She thought to herself. "This is not a laughing matter Nao! What's so funny anyway!?" After a while the laughing died down to giggles, then to chuckling, and then there was silence as he wiped the tears from his eyes. He loved how she could get so angry over something as simple as him not answering his phone when she called. He would have to make it a habit to not answer his phone a lot more often, ah~ women were such fragile and irritating creatures. "My apologies Aya, however I do have a life other than tending to yours all the time. And besides, painting isn't so bad, you should try it out sometime it will calm your short-temper~" Nao grinned at the sputtering on the other end of the phone. Oh she was mad now. "For your information Nao. I didn't have a short-temper until I met you!" The girl nearly shrieked as she rambled on, shouting out profanities here and there. Nao simply moved the phone away from his ear, staring at it with the the slightest hint of annoyance on his face before putting the phone on speaker and laying it on the table, getting up to fetch the thick book he was currently reading out of the living room. The girls loud voice echoed off the empty walls of the kitchen and bounced off of Nao's head as he simply tuned out all she was saying. This always happened with this victim, she would complain about something she didn't like on Nao, and Nao would just politely return the gesture. She would flip and start talking about nonsense that he just couldn't understand nor cared about. He finally zoned in on the last sentence, "You brought this side out in me!" Nao's sweet, fake smile was plastered back on his face as he picked up the phone. "Okay... Are you finished now?" Silence once more was heard, and then the sound of the dial tone alerting him that she had hung up. Had the girl known where he lived, she would have been stomping her way over right now to yell at him some more. Nao chuckled and hit the end button, it's about time that he severed all ties he had with this one, she just had too many complications. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
